Control your suboxone taper by cutting your film properly...

Picture
When prescribed to a prescription film medication that you're dependent on, such as SUBOXONE® 8 and 2 mg sublingual films, a common goal is to reduce your dosage by tapering.  You need an effective and accurate way to know how to cut your doses during the taper process to perform it successfully.

If you can accurately cut your SUBOXONE® film, know your exact dose and reduce your dosage by 5-10% each drop; you'll be able to minimize withdrawal symptoms and make the taper process as comfortable as possible.

In the past, reducing your SUBOXONE® dosage would be done by folding the film multiple times with fingers or tweezers and the film would end up tearing and the results were very inconsistent.  Manually folding each film only worked with higher doses when inconsistency in mg's didn't matter as much, and you could afford to have uneven mg doses.

As doses reduce even further, using a ruler to mark the film and cut with scissors could be possible.  It would take a lot of patience and along with that, frustration, but still never have enough accuracy or precision to cut each film correctly which resulted in uneven doses and never knowing exactly how much was taken.

I don't think the cutting guide is a waste of money, actually quite the opposite - I think it is the BEST money I ever spent!!! Now ALL of my little tiny pieces are all the same size! - Current Rx Film Cutting Guide User

With the Rx Film Cutting Guide, you can position your Rx film, such as SUBOXONE® 8 and 2 mg films, directly on the Rx Film Cutting Guide and cut it to the exact dose you desire.  This will help you control your taper, so you feel as comfortable as possible when reducing your dosage.

By following the increments for both the 8 and 2 mg films, you can see exactly how much you're taking and know you're reducing your dose by 5-10% each drop.

Another tool to help your tapering process is the Rx Film Taper Chart.  By using these tools properly, you will be able to plan out your taper and know when it's time to reduce your current Suboxone dose.  You will also be able to visualize how the drop of dose affects the level of Suboxone in your body based on it's half-life.  You'll quickly see that when you drop greater mg doses, the level of Suboxone in your body drops greater, which could result in greater withdrawal symptoms.  That's why it's impairative to drop your doses in the smallest increments possible.  The last funciton this tool provides, is that it's able to keep track of your initial Suboxone quantity and will let you know the date you will run out based on the doses you insert into the Chart.  This is very helpful when you have limited doses from month to month.
